Boyle's law
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004008
A fundamental gas law stating that for a fixed amount of an ideal gas kept at constant temperature, the pressure and volume are inversely proportional. As the volume of the gas decreases, its pressure increases proportionally. This principle is applied in atmospheric science to understand how air parcels expand and cool or compress and warm during vertical motion.
