Ideal gas
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006451
A theoretical gas composed of randomly moving point particles that interact only through elastic collisions, with no intermolecular forces or volume. This model simplifies the behavior of real gases, especially at high temperatures and low pressures, allowing for the application of the ideal gas law (PV=nRT). Atmospheric gases often approximate ideal gas behavior under typical meteorological conditions.
