Equation of state
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005409
A thermodynamic relationship that connects the physical properties of a substance, such as pressure, temperature, and density. This mathematical expression describes how these variables are interrelated for a given material. For an ideal gas, the equation of state is PV=nRT, where P is pressure, V is volume, n is the number of moles, R is the ideal gas constant, and T is temperature.
