Clausius-Clapeyron equation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004325
A thermodynamic relationship that describes the phase change between two states of matter, particularly relevant to the saturation vapor pressure of water. It quantifies how the saturation vapor pressure changes with temperature. This equation is used in meteorology to understand processes like cloud formation and precipitation, showing that warmer air can hold more water vapor.
