Kirchhoff's equation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006787
A thermodynamic relationship that describes how the enthalpy of a chemical reaction or phase change varies with temperature. It states that the change in enthalpy of reaction at a given temperature is related to its value at another temperature by integrating the difference in heat capacities between products and reactants. The equation is applied in cloud physics to calculate latent heat values at temperatures other than the standard reference point of 0°C.
