Storage equation

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009276

A mathematical expression that quantifies the change in the amount of a substance within a defined system over time, based on the balance between inflows and outflows. It applies the principle of conservation of mass or energy to a specific volume. In hydrology, it relates changes in water storage to precipitation, evaporation, and runoff.
