Bouguer's law
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003994
A principle describing the attenuation of light as it passes through an absorbing medium, stating that the rate of decrease in light intensity is proportional to the intensity itself and the path length. It is often used in atmospheric optics to model the extinction of solar radiation by atmospheric gases and aerosols. This law is a precursor to the Beer-Lambert law.
