Bouguer-Lambert law

A principle describing the attenuation of light as it passes through an absorbing medium. It states that the decrease in intensity is proportional to the intensity itself and to the path length through the medium. This law is applied in atmospheric science to model the absorption of solar radiation by gases and aerosols.
