Snel's law
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008966
A formula describing the change in direction of a wave as it passes from one medium to another. The law states that the ratio of the sines of the angles of incidence and refraction is equal to the ratio of the phase velocities in the two media. This relationship is also equivalent to the reciprocal of the ratio of the media's indices of refraction.
