Lambert's law
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006851
A physical principle describing the intensity of light scattered from an ideal, diffusely reflecting surface. The radiant intensity observed from a point on the surface varies directly with the cosine of the angle formed by the viewing direction and the surface normal. A surface that perfectly adheres to this law, called a Lambertian surface, has the same radiance when viewed from any angle.
