Newton's law of cooling
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007535
A principle stating that the rate of heat loss from a body is directly proportional to the temperature difference between the body and its surroundings. This law is an approximation often applied in meteorology to model the cooling of surfaces or air parcels. It is most accurate for small temperature differences and convective heat transfer.
