Stefan-Boltzmann law
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010787
A physical law stating that the total energy radiated per unit surface area of a black body across all wavelengths per unit time is directly proportional to the fourth power of the black body's absolute temperature. This law is derived from integrating Planck's law over all wavelengths. The constant of proportionality, known as the Stefan-Boltzmann constant, has a value of approximately 5.67 x 10^-8 W m^-2 K^-4.
