Systematic error

A consistent and repeatable deviation in measurements from the true value, caused by flaws in the instrument, observation method, or experimental design. Unlike random errors, which vary unpredictably, systematic errors bias results in a particular direction. This type of error can be identified and corrected through calibration or by comparing measurements with a known standard.
