Doppler error
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010480
An inaccuracy in velocity measurements obtained using Doppler radar or lidar, arising from factors other than the true motion of the target. These errors can be caused by signal processing limitations, atmospheric refraction, or the presence of multiple scatterers within the sampling volume. Careful calibration and signal processing techniques are employed to minimize Doppler error in wind measurements.
