Laboratory tank

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006827

A controlled experimental setup, typically a large container of water, used to simulate atmospheric or oceanic fluid dynamics in a laboratory setting. These tanks allow for the study of phenomena such as rotating fluids, density currents, and wave propagation under idealized conditions. Experiments in laboratory tanks provide insights into complex geophysical fluid processes that are difficult to observe directly in nature.
