Climatological year

A 12-month period selected for compiling and analyzing climate data, structured to keep meteorological seasons whole within a single data year. Unlike the standard calendar year, it might begin on a date other than January 1st to group months of a particular season together for consistent analysis. For example, a climatological year for the Northern Hemisphere winter could run from December 1st to November 30th.
