Natural synoptic season

A division of the year based on recurring large-scale atmospheric circulation patterns and associated weather characteristics, rather than fixed calendar dates. These seasons reflect the dominant synoptic processes that influence a particular region's climate. For example, a monsoon season is a type of natural synoptic season.
