Naulu

A localized, strong, and gusty wind that occurs in the vicinity of the Hawaiian Islands, particularly on the leeward side. It forms when stable air flows over the mountainous terrain, creating a hydraulic jump and accelerating down the slopes. Naulu winds can pose hazards to aviation and marine activities due to their sudden onset and intensity.
