Mauka breeze

A local wind system in Hawaii that blows from the land towards the mountains, typically occurring during the nighttime hours. This breeze is driven by the differential cooling of land and mountain slopes. It is part of the diurnal land-sea breeze circulation pattern, contrasting with the daytime makai breeze that blows from the sea.
