Contrail-formation graph
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004658
A graphical representation that illustrates the atmospheric conditions under which aircraft contrails are likely to form and persist. It typically plots temperature against pressure or altitude, delineating regions where the exhaust plume from jet engines will condense into visible ice crystals. Such graphs are used by meteorologists and aviation forecasters to predict contrail occurrence.
