Ebb strength

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005244

The maximum speed or velocity attained by a tidal current during the ebb phase, when water is flowing away from the coast or out of an estuary. This represents the peak outflow of water during a tidal cycle. Ebb strength is typically measured in knots or meters per second and varies with tidal range and local bathymetry.
