Extended forecast

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005510

A weather prediction that covers a period beyond the short-range forecast, typically spanning from three to seven days, or sometimes up to two weeks. These forecasts provide general trends in temperature, precipitation, and wind patterns rather than precise hourly conditions. They rely on numerical weather prediction models that simulate atmospheric processes over longer time scales.
