Hydrological warning

An alert issued by a meteorological or hydrological service to inform the public and relevant authorities about an imminent or ongoing water-related hazard, excluding floods from precipitation alone. These warnings cover events such as ice jams, dam breaks, or sudden rises in river levels due to glacier-dammed lake outbursts. The warning specifies the location, nature, and expected severity of the hazard.
