Hydrological routing
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006338
The process of calculating the movement and transformation of a flood wave or other water volume as it propagates through a river channel, reservoir, or other hydrologic system. This involves solving equations that describe the conservation of mass and momentum for the water flow. Common methods include the Muskingum method and kinematic wave models.
