Jetlet
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006742
A small-scale, transient region of high-speed winds embedded within a broader, weaker flow, or a smaller, localized jet stream. These features are smaller in both spatial extent and duration compared to major jet streams. Jetlets are often associated with specific meteorological phenomena, such as the entrance or exit regions of larger jets, or with mesoscale convective systems.
