Little Ice Age

A period of regional cooling in the Northern Hemisphere that occurred roughly between the 14th and 19th centuries, characterized by colder winters, advances of glaciers, and changes in agricultural practices. While not a true ice age, it represents a period of relatively lower global temperatures compared to the preceding Medieval Warm Period. Evidence for this period comes from historical records, tree rings, and glacial moraines.
