Interglacial phase

A relatively warm interval within a larger ice age characterized by significantly reduced global ice volume and higher sea levels compared to glacial periods. These phases typically last for tens of thousands of years and are marked by a shift in global climate patterns. The Eemian interglacial, preceding the last glacial period, was warmer than the present Holocene.
