Interglacial

A geological period of warmer global temperatures and retreating glaciers that occurs between two glacial periods within an ice age. During an interglacial, sea levels rise, and ice sheets are significantly reduced compared to glacial maxima. The current geological epoch, the Holocene, is an interglacial period.
