Meteorological office

A branch or department of a meteorological service responsible for providing weather forecasts, warnings, and other meteorological information to the public and specific users. These offices typically receive data from observing networks and numerical models, then interpret and disseminate the information. The United Kingdom's national weather service is officially known as the Met Office.
