Pulse volume

The three-dimensional region in space illuminated by a single radar pulse at any given instant. Its dimensions are determined by the radar's beamwidth and the pulse length. This volume defines the resolution cell from which atmospheric targets, such as precipitation or aerosols, contribute to the received radar echo.
