Snow cap

A permanent covering of snow and ice found on the summit or upper slopes of a mountain or mountain range. This accumulation persists throughout the year, even during warmer seasons, due to high elevation and low temperatures. Snow caps contribute to regional water supplies through meltwater runoff.
