Storm-warning tower

A tall structure equipped with lights or flags to display warnings of approaching severe weather conditions to the public. These towers were historically used in coastal areas or near large bodies of water to alert mariners and residents to impending storms. Visual signals, such as specific flag patterns or light sequences, communicated the severity and type of weather threat.
