Stratiform precipitation area

A region within a weather system where precipitation falls from stratiform clouds, characterized by its relatively uniform intensity and broad horizontal extent. This type of precipitation is typically associated with widespread ascent of air in stable atmospheric environments. It contrasts with convective precipitation, which is more localized and intense.
