Convective region

An area within a larger weather system, such as a tropical cyclone or a squall line, where active convection is occurring. This region is characterized by strong updrafts, towering clouds, and often heavy precipitation and lightning. It contrasts with stratiform regions, which have more widespread, less intense precipitation.
