Convective storm
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004680
A weather phenomenon driven by the vertical transport of heat and moisture in the atmosphere, resulting in the formation of towering cumulus or cumulonimbus clouds. These storms produce precipitation, lightning, and sometimes hail, strong winds, or tornadoes. They develop when warm, moist air rises through cooler air, leading to atmospheric instability.
