Convective transport
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004682
The process by which heat, moisture, or other atmospheric properties are moved vertically or horizontally through the atmosphere by the bulk motion of air. This mechanism is particularly effective in transferring energy from the Earth's surface to higher altitudes, often leading to cloud formation and precipitation. It is a dominant process in the planetary boundary layer and within thunderstorms.
