Convective transport theory

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004683

A theoretical framework describing the movement of heat, moisture, and momentum through the atmosphere by means of vertical air currents and turbulent mixing. This theory explains how energy and substances are redistributed vertically within the troposphere, particularly in unstable conditions. It is applied in parameterizations within atmospheric models to represent sub-grid scale processes.
