Small eddy theory
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008954
A theoretical framework in fluid dynamics that describes the behavior and effects of turbulent eddies at scales smaller than the resolved flow. This theory often involves statistical approaches to characterize the energy cascade and dissipation within the turbulent spectrum. It provides a basis for developing parameterizations used in numerical weather prediction and climate models.
