Zero-order closure
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010322
A simplification in atmospheric modeling where turbulent fluxes are parameterized without explicitly calculating the higher-order moments of the turbulent fluctuations. This approach assumes that the turbulent transport is directly proportional to the mean gradient of the quantity being transported. It is often used in simple models of the atmospheric boundary layer where computational resources are limited.
