Half-order closure
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006152
A simplified approach in atmospheric modeling to represent turbulent fluxes, where higher-order correlation terms are approximated using gradients of mean quantities. This method is less complex than full higher-order closures but more sophisticated than first-order closures. It is often used in boundary layer models to parameterize vertical transport of momentum and scalars.
