Zero-plane displacement
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010323
A correction factor applied to the height above the ground when calculating wind profiles and turbulent fluxes within and above a canopy or rough surface. It represents the effective height at which the mean wind speed becomes zero due to the presence of obstacles like vegetation or buildings. This parameter is typically a fraction of the height of the roughness elements.
