Supplementary station

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009422

A weather observation point that provides additional meteorological data to augment the network of primary synoptic stations. These stations often collect specialized information, such as precipitation amounts, snow depth, or specific agricultural parameters, which are not routinely gathered at main stations. Data from supplementary stations contribute to a more detailed understanding of local weather conditions and climate patterns.
