Ocean station

A fixed location at sea, occupied by a ship or buoy, equipped to make continuous meteorological and oceanographic observations. These platforms collect data on atmospheric pressure, air and sea surface temperature, wind speed and direction, humidity, and wave characteristics. Data from these stations are transmitted in real time for use in weather forecasting, climate monitoring, and maritime safety.
