Supplementary observation

An additional meteorological measurement or visual report taken at a weather station to provide more detailed information than routine observations, especially during rapidly changing or severe weather conditions. These observations can include specific cloud types, unusual precipitation, or visibility changes. They are often recorded between scheduled synoptic reports.
