Open flow potential
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002623
The maximum theoretical rate at which a gas well could produce if there were no restrictions to flow, such as backpressure from the pipeline or surface equipment. It is determined by extrapolating production test data to zero flowing bottomhole pressure. This value represents the well's absolute maximum deliverability under ideal conditions, often expressed in millions of standard cubic feet per day (MMscf/D).
