Flow after flow tests
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001468
A type of multi-rate well test used to determine a gas well's deliverability and absolute open flow potential. The well is produced at a series of increasing stabilized flow rates, with each flow period immediately following the previous one without an intermediate shut-in. A plot of the squared pressure drop versus the gas flow rate is used to construct the inflow performance relationship.
A type of multi-rate well test used to determine a gas well's deliverability and absolute open flow potential. The test consists of a sequence of production periods at different, increasing, and stabilized flow rates, with no shut-in period between them. Each flow period must be long enough for the bottomhole pressure to stabilize, which can make the test time-consuming for low-permeability reservoirs.
