fluorine F 18-FEQA

Term · Oncology and biomedicine · MLC-T-ONC-003262

  1. A radioactive substance being studied in positron emission tomography (PET) imaging to diagnose cancer and to find out how well some types of cancer respond to treatment. Fluorine F 18-FEQA binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), which is found on some cancer cells. The PET scan forms an image that shows where cancer cells with EGFR can be found in the body.

  2. The anilinoquinazoline derivative FEQA radiolabeled with the positron-emitting radioisotope fluorine F 18 with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) binding and radioisotopic activities. Fluorine F 18 FEQA irreversibly binds to (EGFR), allowing imaging of EGFR-positive tumor cells with positron emission tomography (PET).
