Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000211
A fixed, repeatable reference position within a 3D printer's build volume, used by the machine's firmware as a zero point for its coordinate system. The printer establishes this position during a homing sequence, where each axis moves until it triggers an endstop switch or sensor at a known physical limit. All subsequent movements during a print are calculated as offsets from this established home position.
