Limit switch
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000205
An electromechanical device used in 3D printers to detect the physical limits of movement for axes, such as the X, Y, and Z axes. When a moving part reaches the switch, it triggers an electrical signal that tells the printer's control system to stop or reverse motion. This prevents the print head or bed from crashing into the machine's frame.
