The side of an additive manufacturing machine that the operator faces to reach the user interface, the main viewing window, or both. It serves as the reference side for the machine layout. In ISO/ASTM 52921, the X axis of the machine coordinate system runs perpendicular to the Z axis and parallel to the front of the machine.
